Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the 21st-century skills that need to be mastered by students to be able to face various personal and social problems. Critical thinking skills can be improved through the RADEC learning model. The method used is pre-experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted on students of class VA of the Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) Rahmatan Lil Alamin, Cibingbulang District, Bogor. The sample used in the study amounted to 27 students, namely from 12 males and 15 females. The instrument used is a test of critical thinking skills and observation sheets. The critical thinking ability test is carried out in two stages, namely the pretest and posttest stages. From the research, the average value of students' critical thinking skills in the pretest was 74 while the average value for the posttest was 86. The data processing was analyzed using SPSS 21 for windows with the Paired Sample t-test (0.05) and the sign value was obtained. 0.000 < (0.05). The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. Furthermore, the N-gain value of 0.513 is obtained. It can be interpreted that there is an increase in the critical thinking ability of students before and after treatment using the RADEC learning model.
