Abstract

The financial system plays an important role in the economy. It makes money easier to move between savers and borrowers and ensures that money is used effectively to support economic growth and development. The Economics of Banking and Finance in Africa: Development in Africa’s Financial Systems, edited by JY Abor and CKD Adjasi, aims to broadly examine the development of the financial system in Africa from several points of view ranging from macroeconomic analysis, financial inclusion, and Fintech to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This book provides in-depth guidance on understanding the financial system in Africa, originating from 29 studies by 84 authors from various countries. Eighty-five percent are from Africa, and Fifteen percent are from elsewhere, such as Australia, Canada, Qatar, the UK, and the USA.
